Quality Assurance
in Series Production
At schlaeger, product development, process development, and validation are tightly interconnected. Even handcrafted prototypes undergo extensive testing with hundreds of characteristics checked. Many validations are performed in‑house; for all others, we rely on specialized external partners.
Product & Process
Validations
Before a development at schlaeger is considered complete, all products and processes must pass extensive validations:
- Intensive customer communication: joint measurements & accelerated approval procedures
- intensive Kundenkommunikation: gemeinsame Vermessungen & beschleunigte Freigabeverfahren
- Metallographic and mechanical analyses with documentation (internal/external)
- Internal validations for individual process stages and processes (e.g., electrical connections)
- X-ray inspection and leak testing technology, residual contamination analyses (external)
- Evaluation of parts from customer validations
- Cooperation with institutes and universities (thermal shock and salt chamber tests, IR investigations)
Depending on the function of a component or assembly, we add further tests, for example:
- Salt spray or salt brine tests for media-tight parts
- Temperature cycling tests
- Validation of joining processes (resistance and laser welding)
- Mechanical load tests, e.g., on contacts
- Geometric validations for stability across the entire process
Prototypes must also pass these tests. Their results determine which dimensions and values are especially monitored in series production. During initial sampling, our customers receive detailed reports on the validations performed.
Our equipment and production systems are also subject to a high level of testing density. Depending on the component, we integrate various tests directly into the production lines – e.g., camera inspections, force-displacement measurements, CT analyses or cleanliness tests. In addition, a visual inspection is carried out by trained employees.
