More than 400 specialized employees are the engine and core of our operations with their expertise. Apprenticeships and continuous training are essential to continuously develop and secure know-how.
Together, we ensure that today almost every European vehicle is on the road with parts made by schlaeger.

Our History
in Milestones
- 1965: Company founded by Wolfgang Schläger – plastics processing
- 1970: First buildings in the OST industrial area
- 1981: Founding of Kunststofftechnik W. Schläger GmbH
- 1989: Founding of Schlaeger M-Tech Inc., USA
- 1992: Founding of Formentechnik Bayreuth GmbH
- 1994: Establishment of the production site in the Czech Republic as LS-Techno s.r.o.
- 1999: New shipping building
- 2001: Production expansion by approx. 1,000 m² & manufacture of the 100 millionth coil
- 2004: Founding of Schlaeger M-Tech s.r.o., Czech Republic
- 2006: Founding of Schlaeger M-Tech GmbH / Schlaeger Kunststofftechnik GmbH
- 2007: Production expansion by approx. 1,000 m² & 300 million coils/magnet assemblies
- 2010: Expansion of site area (by approx. 4,500 m²) & 450 million coils/magnet assemblies
- 2011: Expansion of site area (by approx. 5,500 m²)
- 2012: Founding of TBB – Technische Berufsbildung Bayreuth GmbH; production expansion (by approx. 2,500 m²) & 600 million coils/magnet assemblies
- 2014: Expansion of site area by approx. 13,800 m² & 800 million coils/magnet assemblies
- 2015: Currently almost 10,000 m² of usable space and approx. 40,000 m² of site area
- 2017: 1 billion coils / magnet assemblies delivered and installed in vehicles worldwide
- 2018: Largest expansion project for production, logistics and office space & 7 mini-factories with approx. 7,400 m² production area
- 2018: Open platform for future projects: schlaeger launches the electric motor microfactory (EMF) with various prototypes, samples and a small series for stator and rotor assemblies of a wide range of architectures
- 2019: First large heat pump in the heating/cooling network reduces fossil fuel demand & schlaeger achieves the CO₂ savings target of 20,000 t (since 2013)2-Einsparungsziel von 20.000 t (ab 2013)
- 2023: Expansion of the production portfolio in the field of stator and rotor assemblies
- 2025: 60 years of schlaeger
